Genetic counselling has been our journey for over a decade
And along the way, three things stayed with us.
We saw genetic counsellors across India working in isolation, without a connected community to grow within. We saw talented professionals entering the field without access to the deeper, specialised training that reproductive, cancer, or prenatal genetics truly demand — and clinicians who wanted to recognise genetic conditions earlier, but lacked the training to do so, even as India's rare disease burden kept growing. And we saw test results — the culmination of a family's long wait for answers — go uninterpreted, or misread, simply because the right expertise wasn't always within reach.
Allelic was born from a simple belief: this should not be the case.
So we set out to build what was missing — a network that brings genetic counsellors together, a learning space in Allelic Academy that helps professionals grow into specialists, and a report interpretation service where expert geneticists, skilled bioinformaticians, and thoughtful AI work hand in hand.
